Dear dance lovers and dance professionals (in and around Luxembourg),

As part of the celebrations for TROIS CL's 30th anniversary, I am presenting the project "Dear Dance", which consists of a 5-minute stage work and an installation in the foyer of the Banannefabrik.

For the installation, I am collecting letters, notes, or messages from you — dance lovers and professionals (from all dance styles) — addressed to dance. These will be displayed as part of the exhibition, celebrating dance as an art form and showcasing our personal thoughts, feelings, and relationships with it. The idea is to collect as many letters/notes/messages as possible to create a beautiful variety of emotions and relations. Dance is alive!

How to participate?

Write a letter, note, or message to dance and begin with the salutation:
"Dear Dance"
Let your message flow spontaneously — no need to overthink. You can write and/or draw.

Need some inspiration?

Imagine Dance as a person or energy (or whatever works for you), what would you like to say to Dance?
What does dance mean to you?
What feelings does dancing evoke in you?
What is your favorite movement?
What is your relationship with dance?
What memories do you associate with dance?

I am most interested in the emotional landscape evoked by dance and I am aware that this landscape can be very varied and at times conflicted.

Practical information:

Language: Write in the language of your choice. If you use a language other than Luxembourgish, German, English, or French, your letter or excerpts may be translated later.

Format: Min. 1 line - max 1 A4 page - handwritten on paper or electronic

Publication: Please be aware that your letter will be read by others. Only share what you are comfortable making public. You can sign with your name or not: your choice!

The letters will be shared with the audience during the 3 day celebration 2. - 4. of April 2025
